March My Lit Box(es): Home, Choices, and Taking Chances

February 2, 2019

It’s 2019 and the first month of the year is already in the books! On one hand, time appears to be flying but on the other hand that means our first My Lit Box(es) of the year are available. If you’re new to My Lit Box, let me bring you up to speed! My Lit Box is a quarterly book subscription service committed to celebrating writers of color. Four times a year (February, May, August, and November) we open our doors to new subscribers and by the end of the month, you can expect a newly released novel by a writer of color that is either Adult Fiction or Young Adult Fiction.

The titles being featured are a secret until the book hits your doorstep but we do offer these teasers at the beginning of each month and here are March’s themes!

The Original My Lit Box‘s theme is “Go Home” and in this novel, unexpected happenings bring this fractured family back to the place they once called home to not only address the issues at hand but to confront a past they all rather put behind them.

The Black Women Are Lit! Box‘s theme is “Take Your Shot” and this saying has more than one meaning in this novel where we see a woman struggle to make headway in her career when she’s offered what may be a career changing opportunity that may be too good to be true.

Lastly, our YA is Lit! Box‘s theme is “Choose One”. Things would be much easier if what we wanted was always what was best for us, but that’s not the case and it certainly isn’t in this month’s YA selection. In this novel you’ll meet characters who have to choose what’s best for them despite what that means for everyone around them.

So there you have the themes for next month’s boxes! If your curiosity is piqued, just pop over to the shop and subscribe today and if you have any other questions check out the FAQ page!
